Private Franklin Michael McAsey

Born on 13 June 1889 in Markdale, Ontario - son of Thomas McAsey, Markdale, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as father; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 8 inches; chest of 37.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; grey eyes; dark hair.

Joined the 147th Battalion, CEF, in Owen Sound, Ontario, on 14 January 1916 (number 838608) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 26 or 27 June 1917 - wounded on 31 August 1918 - invalided to England on 2 September 1918.
