Private Ernest Ellis Lord

Born on 2 November 1893 in Vancouver, British Columbia - son of Mrs. M.S. Lord, Vancouver, British Columbia - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as McGill student; single; no current military service; previously served with the Vancouver High School cadets (one year) and the Boy's Brigade (two years); Church of England; height of 5 feet 7.5 inches; chest of 35.5 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; green eyes; medium hair.

Attended McGill University College, British Columbia, in Science from 1913 to 1915.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Vancouver, British Columbia, on 11 March 1915 (number 411047) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, CEF, on 16 July 1915 - transferred to the imperial army on 9 November 1915 in order to be commissioned - joined the 184th Tunnelling Company, Royal Engineers, as a Lieutenant in November 1915 - transferred to No.2 Light Railway Company, Royal Engineers, in March 1917 - gassed in Nieuport on 16 July 1917 - repatriated to Canada and discharged in July 1919.

Awarded a Mention in Despatches (for efforts in Nieuport on 10 July 1917?).
