Hi..I have just started looking into family tree type research and came across this on the Web.This is my Great Grandfather...my Grandfather was John Murray Levere also with a Military background. From my recollections my Great grandfather and 3-5 of his brother my great uncles went to war. I have been trying to track down a news paper article out of Spencerville that have them on the front page with a picture and heading of The Fighting Levere's..I wanted to read the article about them. Should you come across anything...pleas email me directly ken.larocque@hotmail.com..thanks for posting this and remembering the men and women who fought for our country.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThe enlistment (attestation) record for your great-grandfather is on the Library and Archives Canada website at http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/001042-119.01-e.php?&id_nbr=530132&interval=20&&PHPSESSID=2o1gdbqt8l40e9lp5i41phq5o7
You can order his military service file from that page. Perhaps it will refer to the Spencerville report.
Best of luck,
Ken
