Private Joseph Larkin

Born on 1 July 1898 in Seaforth, Lancashire, England - brother of Willie Larkin, Carlsbad Springs, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1917: present address in Ottawa, Ontario; trade as fireman; single; currently a member of the 43rd Duke of Cornwall's Own Rifles (six months); no previous military service; Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 4 inches; chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; auburn hair.

Joined No. 3 Section, Divisional Ammunition Column, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 16 February 1917 (number 2043019) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 July 1917 - wounded on 31 October or 2 November 1917 - died of those wounds on 17 November 1917 - buried in Longuenesse (St. Omer) Souvenir Cemetery (grave IV.F.5), France.
