Conscripted into the 1st Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Kingston, Ontario, on 25 January 1918 (number 3056419) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 September 1918 - invalided sick to England on 29 December 1918.
