Private Harry Joy

Born on 18 March 1889 in Brighouse, Yorkshire, England - husband of Florence P. Joy, Toronto, Ontario - son of James and Emma Joy, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1914: trade as machinist; single; currently a member of the Active Militia; previously served with the 4th West Riding Regiment; Church of England; height of 5 feet 6 inches; chest of 37 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; light brown hair.

Joined the 2nd Railway Supply Depot, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 7 December 1914 (number 1222) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 April 1918 - killed in action on 28 September 1918 - buried in Bourlon Wood Cemetery (grave II.B.1), France.
