Joined the 2nd Railway Supply Depot, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 7 December 1914 (number 1222) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 April 1918 - killed in action on 28 September 1918 - buried in Bourlon Wood Cemetery (grave II.B.1), France.
