Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 24 February 1915 (number 410512) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 9 April 1917 - invalided to England on 16 April 1917 - died of sickness in England on 2 March 1918 - buried in Seaford Cemetery (grave A.597), England.
Awarded the Military Medal - no official citation - unit recommendation date unknown (awarded 26 April 1917): "For bravery in the field."
