Born on 27 November 1882 in Ottawa, Ontario - husband of Aline Jackson, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as C.B.[?]; married; currently a member of the 43rd Regiment (five years); previously served in a military force; Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 5 inches; chest of 36 inches fully expanded; healthy complexion; brown eyes; iron grey hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 11 March 1915 (number 410283) - transferred to the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1915.
