Private William George Hughes

Born on 5 January 1876 in Kent, England - husband of Alice Jane Hughes, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as wife, trade as labourer, married, no current military service, previously served as a Private with the Royal Marines (twelve years), Church of England, height of 5 feet 6.25 inches, chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded, fresh complexion, blue eyes, fair hair.

Joined the 166th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 6 March 1916 (number 669931) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 27 November or 1 December 1916 - struck off the strength to the Canadian Labour Pool, CEF, on 2 November 1917.
