Regimental Quartermaster-Sergeant William Bert Gutteridge

Born on 26 July 1874 in Bartenleclay Beds, England - husband of Margaret Gutteridge, Hamilton, Bermuda - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as clerk, married, no current military service, previously served with the Bedfords Regiment (five years, one month) and the West India Regiment (twelve years, one month), Church of England, height of 5 feet 10 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, ruddy complexion, grey eyes, iron grey hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Prospect, Bermuda, on 23 October 1915 (number 410967) - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - invalided to England injured accidentally on 14 May 1918.
