Born on 28 June 1896 in Northwich, England - son of Albert Garner, Montreal, Quebec - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as labourer, single, no current or previous military service, Salvationist, height of 5 feet 11 inches, chest of 34.5 inches fully expanded, dark complexion, blue eyes, brown hair.
Joined the 73rd Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 7 September 1915 (number 132291) - landed in France with the 73rd Battalion on 12 August 1916 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 April 1917 - invalided to England on 22 December 1918.

His brother, also Albert, served with the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada and was killed in France on 19th July 1944.
I'm currently trying to find more information about the family ties to Canada. His brother Albert had a wife Miriam and they were living in Montreal.
I hope adding a little more information on Harold helps build a picture of the soldiers your blog covers.
