Private Harry Francis

Born on 14 November 1894 in Canada - no next of kin - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as labourer, single, currently serving with the 43rd Duke of Cornwall's Own Rifles (since 28 December 1914), no previous military service, Presbyterian, height of 5 feet 5.5 inches, chest of 33.5 inches fully expanded, ruddy complexion, hazel eyes, light brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 24 February 1915 (number 410017) - transferred to the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1916 - died of his wounds on 26 October 1916 [CWGC says 20th Battalion, CEF] - buried in Barlin Communal Cemetery Extension (grave I.E.25), France.
