Joined the 91st Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 22 November 1915 (number 189452) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 August 1917 - wounded on 31 October or 3 November 1917 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 8 February 1918 - transferred to the 12th Canadian Light Trench Mortar Battery on 17 May 1918 - killed in action on 10 August 1918 - buried in Caix British Cemetery (grave I.B.8), France.
