Private James Evert Fitzgerald

Born on 25 November 1895 in Missouri[?], Middlesex, Ontario - next of kin listed as Mrs. E.C. Fitzgerald, Thorndale, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as student OAC, single, currently a member of the OAC Canadian Officers' Training Corps, previously served in the Canadian Officers' Training Corps as a private[?], Methodist, height of 5 feet 11 inches, chest of 38 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, brown eyes, black or dark hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Guelph, Ontario, on 16 March 1915 (number 410995) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 16 July 1915 - died of his wounds on 11 May 1916 - buried in Maple Copse Cemetery (grave Sp. Mem. E.10), Belgium.
