Private George Farraway

Born on 8 March 1889 in England - son of Mrs. Eliza Farraway, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as mother, trade as rivetter, single, no current military service, previously served nine months in the Civic Guards, Church of England, height of 5 feet 6.5 inches, chest of 35 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, blue eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 21 January 1916 (number 775064) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - transferred to the Canadian Machine Gun Corps on 1 January 1917.
