Joined the 156th Battalion, CEF, in Brockville, Ontario, on 8 February 1916 (number 639318) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 18 or 19 January 1918 - wounded on 2 or 3 September 1918 - invalided to England on 5 September 1918.
