Private Elvin Day

Born on 2 August 1889 in Port Sanilac, Michigan - brother of Private Robert A. Day (86540), 17th Battery, CFA - at the time of his conscription in 1918: present address in Saskatoon, Saskatchean, single, Methodist, trade as farmer, no current or previous military service, height of 5 feet 8 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, grey eyes, light hair.

Conscripted into the 1st Depot Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on 7 January 1918 (number 256779) - taken on the strength of the 28th Battalion, CEF, on 5 September 1918 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 21 or 22 September 1918 - wounded on 28 September 1918 - invalided to England on 29 September 1918.
