Lance-Corporal Samuel Deacon

Born on 1 June 1892 in County of Wexford, Ireland - brother of Joseph Deacon, Celhanon, County of Wexford, Ireland - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as automobile expert, single, no current or previous military service, Church of England, height of 5 feet 9.5 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, ruddy complexion, blue eyes, black hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 28 April 1915 (number 410840) - placed in "C" Company upon enlistment - taken on the strength of the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1915 - wounded on 9 February 1916 - wounded on 8 or 9 August 1918.
