Private James Curtis

Born on 1 May 1898 in Glasgow, Scotland - nephew of Mrs. Mary McLeod, Ottawa, Ontario - at time of his enlistment in 1917: present address same as aunt, trade as teamster, single, no current military service, previously served in the 43rd Regiment home guard, Church of England, height of 5 feet 3.5 inches, chest of 39 inches fully expanded, medium complexion, grey eyes, brown hair.

Joined 5th Divisional Ammunition Column, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 19 January 1917 (number 2043016) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 July 1917 - wounded on 27 September 1918 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 1 November 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 5 May 1919.

Died in 1957 - buried in Notre Dame Cemetery, Ottawa.
