Craig, Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario - at time of conscription in 1918: present address in Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario, single, Presbyterian, trade as farmer, no current or previous military service, height of 5 feet 8 inches, chest of 41 inches fully expanded, dark complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair.
Conscripted into the 2nd Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 22 January 1918 (number 3320439) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 10 or 12 June 1918 - wounded on 12 August 1918 - invalided to England on 17 August 1918.
Died in 1966 - buried in Whyte Cemetery, Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario.
My uncle Benny was a great man. He married Myrtle Armstrong from Carp and raised four children , Graham, William and daughters Donna and Betty.
