Born on 29 July 1896 in Canada - son of Margaret Corbett, Cookstown, Ontario - at time of enlistment in 1915: present address in Barrie, Ontario, trade as clerk, single, no current or previous military service, Presbyterian, height of 5 feet 9 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, dark complexion, brown eyes, dark hair.
Joined the 157th Battalion, CEF, in Barrie, Ontario, on 17 November 1915 (number 643226) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 27 or 28 March 1918 - killed in action on 2 September 1918 - buried in Dury Mill Cemetery, France.
Pte Corbett is also listed on the Cookstown Memorial, his hometown in Ontario, found at the website
