Private William Cooper

Born on 30 December 1896 in London, England - son of Mrs. Cooper, Barnesbury[?], England - nephew of Mrs. Janet Sutherland, Ramseyville, Ontario - at time of enlistment in 1915: trade as farmer, single, no current or previous military service, Presbyterian, height of 5 feet 5 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, ruddy complexion, blue eyes, fair hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 28 January 1915 (number 410062) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 9 or 12 April 1917 - invalided to England on 16 April 1917 - later served with reserve units.
