Private Arthur C. Clermont

Born on 8 April 1894 in Ottawa, Ontario - son of (late) Albert Clermont and Matilda Levesque (previously Clermont, nee Dubiens), Hull, Quebec - enlistment records provide the following: trade as plumber, single, no current or previous military service, Roman Catholic, height of 5 feet 5.25 inches, chest of 33 inches, medium complexion, blue eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 22 July 1915 (number 410053) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 2 November 1916 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 11 November 1916 - died on 12 January 1917 of wounds received on 2 January 1917 - buried in Etaples Military Cemetery (grave XXI.B.17A), France.
