Joined the 240th Battalion, CEF, in Renfrew, Ontario, on 28 September 1916 (number 1042162) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 July 1917 - wounded on 25 July 1918 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 13 September 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 5 May 1919.
