Joined No. 3 Section Divisional Ammunition Column, CFA, in Kingston, Ontario, on 16 April 1917 (number 2043071) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 July 1917 - invalided sick to England on 23 October 1917 - transferred to the Royal Flying Corps on 7 November 1918 in order to be commissioned.
