Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 18 December 1915 (number 775044) - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - wounded on 28 or 31 March 1917 - invalided to England on 8 April 1917 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 6 July 1917 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 5 May 1919.

Awarded the Military Medal - no citation - unit recommendation dated 15 August 1918: "For excellent services during advance between Haugard and Hallu Aug. 8th to 12th 1918."
