Joined the 109th Battalion, CEF, in Lindsay, Ontario, on 16 February 1916 (number 725244) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - wounded on 2 September 1918 - invalided to England on 30 September 1918.
Died of an accidental drowning in Canada on 11 September 1919 - buried in Prospect Cemetery (grave GWVA 377), Toronto, Ontario.
