Corporal John Blake

Born on 19 September 1891 in Margate, England - nephew of Mrs. Fagg[?], Kent, England - attestation paper notes present address 11th Regiment Irish Fusiliers of Canada, William St., Vancouver, British Columbia, trade as soldier, single, currently a member of the 11th Regiment Irish Fusiliers of Canada for 18[?] months, no previous military service, height of 5 feet 10 inches, chest of 37.5 inches, fair complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, Church of England.

Joined the 121st Canadian Infantry Battalion in Vancouver, British Columbia, on 29 February 1916 (number 761100) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion in France on 15 November 1916 - wounded on 5 January 1917 - rejoined the battalion on 8 January 1917 - transferred to the Canadian Labour Pool on 17 December 1917 - transferred to the Canadian Army Medical Corps on 2 October 1918.
