Son of James Baxter, Ottawa, Ontario.
Joined the 77th Canadian Infantry Battalion at Rockcliffe Camp, Ottawa, Ontario, on 13 August 1915 (number 144551) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion in England on 6 July 1916 - landed in France with the battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 4 November 1917 - invalided to England on 9 November 1917 - returned to Canada on 5 July 1918.
Died on 1 February 1921 - buried in Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa, Ontario.
