Joined the 38th Battalion on 30 November 1915 (number 410449) - served with the battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 18 or 28 November 1916 - invalided to England on 5 December 1916 - rejoined the battalion on 16 June 1917 - wounded on 19 August 1917 - wounded on 14 August 1918 - rejoined the battalion on 17 October 1918 - struck off the strength of the battalion on 5 May 1919.
