Thank you for adding my grandfather's name to your list of soldiers of the 38th. It is so very important that these veterans are not forgotten. My husband and I had the privilege of attending the re-dedication of the Vimy Memorial and the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge in April 2007. Even though Gramps was transferred to the 2nd Batallion, which played a minor role at the battle, I couldn't help feel a great sense of pride not only as his granddaughter but as a Canadian as well.
You're welcome, and thank you for your message. I, too, was fortunate enough to be at Vimy in April this year. It was an incredible experience, to say the least. As for his presence on this blog, he was a member of the 38th, no matter how briefly. I do expect, some day, to be able to review his personnel file and provide a lot more detail on his service.
