Private John Mitchell Adams

Born on 13 April 1899 in Brantford, Ontario - son of James and Margaret E. Adams - enlistment papers state present address as 162 Chatham St, Brantford, Ontario, trade as student, marital status single, never before a member of the militia, height of 5 feet 7 inches, chest of 36 inches, fair complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair, and a Presbyterian.

Joined the Canadian Army Service Corps on 16 April 1917 (number 514272) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion in France on 27 or 28 March 1918 - killed in action on 2 September 1918 during the advance to the Drocourt-Queant Line when he was instantly killed by enemy shrapnel - his body was found between Moulin Damiens and the Sand Pit - buried in Dury Mill Cemetery (grave I.C.20), France.
